Lawn Dethatching:  Thatch is a layer of slowly decomposing grass stems, dead roots and debris that accumulates above the soil and below the grass blades.  A dethatched lawn encourages vigorous growth.  Moderate dethatching is completed with lawnmower attachment equipment and is usually performed during your spring clean-up.  Heavy thatch problems require the use of steel tine power equipment to remove the thatch.  Usually performed in the Spring.

Lawn Aeration:  Aeration is the process of mechanically removing plugs or “cores” from the lawn to increase root development and loosen compacted soils.  We recommend aerating yearly, especially for sod lawns.  Usually performed in the Fall.

Hydro-seeding or Over-seeding:  If your lawn is basically healthy with some bare or thin spots, renovation your lawn can make it look like new again.  Second to Fall, Spring is an excellent time to rejuvenate your lawn.

PLANT CARE
Shrub and Tree Pruning:  Includes general shaping of plants to maintain thickness and control size, removal of sucker growth and dead branches.  This does not include extensive pruning of mature trees.

Shrub Fertilization:  Liquid root injection gives your shrubs the stored energy that they need to maintain health, promote new growth and tolerance of insects and disease.

Dormant Oil Treatment:  Applied to shrubs and ornamental trees.  Dormant oil is a non-toxic oil based product used for controlling insects, which could affect plant health during the season.

Ornamental Tree Sub-Surface Fertilization:  Helps trees maintain proper health; promote new growth and tolerance of insects and disease.

WEED CONTROL AND BED CARE

Weed Control and Bed Care:  Weeds will be controlled in mulched planting beds and in walkways/patios.  Chemical weed control will be used if determined necessary.  Mulch beds will be maintained, cleaned and groomed neat.  Control will be performed on an as needed basis due to property conditions or at the customer’s request.

MULCH
Pine Bark Mulch:  Includes the purchase, delivery and fine spreading of mulch.  Edging by means of string trimming is included.

Edging:  Edging of planting beds not capable of string trimming can be completed by means of power equipment and/or hand edging tools.
